SHIMSHAL PASS-MINGLIGH SAR TREK( 16 Nights / 17 Days)

Islamabad-Chilas-Karimabad-Shimshal-Pastforzin-Arbab Puerion- Shuezherav- Shimshal Pass- Arbab Puerion-Shimshal-Gulmit-Karimabad-Besham-Islamabad

Trek Itinerary:

Day 01: Islamabad

Arrive at Benazir Bhutto International airport Islamabad. Meet, assist & transfer to the hotel. AM at leisure. PM Islamabad city tour.Our sightseeing tour will start from, Faisal Mosque, Shakar Parian & National monument with a trip to Damn-e-Koh, to catch an eye bird view of the twin cities. Overnight at the hotel.(No meals).

Day 02: Islamabad-Chilas

After breakfast drive to Chilas.Chilas was on the ancient caravan track over the Babusar Pass into India and on the Indus trail of Besham, and many rock engravings/impressions were left by travelers in this area. Chilas is standing under the shadow of world famous Killer Mountain Nanga Parbat. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).

Day 03: Chilas-Karimabad

After breakfast drive to Karimabad.Karimabad is the delightful old capital of the Hunza Kingdom. From Karimabad, with its souvenir shop, post office and tea shop, you can obtain a magnificent view of the valley laid out below you and of the peaks behind. The Aliabad / Karimabad area is scattered with wild flowers and blossoming fruit orchards. We will spend half our day in these two towns enjoying the greenery and delighting in the sound of water falls. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).

Day 04: Karimabad

Breakfast at the hotel. Day free in Karimabad to explore local area. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).

Day 05: Karimabad-Shimshal (9,425 ft / 2,880 m)

After breakfast morning transfer to Attabad Lake by Willy Jeep. Cross the lack by motor boat. After crossing the Lake Continue drive to Shimshal Valley (4-5 hours).

Shimshal is reachable from Passu, and the drive to Passu from Islamabad takes approximately 16-18 hours. Shimshal Valley, a group of people whose terrain makes up an important part of the Karakoram mountain range in Gilgit/Baltistan of Pakistan. Here are many peaks over 6000 metres, various glaciers and prolific alpine pastures. Shimshal is a farming and herding community of more then 1100 inhabitants, situated at the north-eastern extreme of both the previously principality of Hunza State (now part of Gilgit/Baltistan of Pakistan).The settlement occupied the upper portion of a valley of the same name, which moves down west into the Hunza River valley at Passu, and which separates the Khunjrab and Hispar Mustagh ranges of the Karakoram mountain structure. Arrive and overnight stay in tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 06: Shimshal-Pastforzin (11,510 ft / 3,517 m)

Breakfast in the camp.Start trek to Pastforzin. This is first stage from where we start our trekking. Trek to Pastforzin will take us in (7-8 hours) to reach. Overnight in tent. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 07: Pastforzin-Arbab Puerion (12,815 ft / 3,916 m)

After breakfast trek to Arbab Puerion. We’ll reach in (5-6 hours). Overnight in tent. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 08: Arbab Puerion-Shuezherav (15,496 ft / 4735 m)

After breakfast trek to Shuezherav via Shimshal Pass (7-8 hours). Overnight in tent. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 09: Shuezherav-Shimshal Pass (15,496 ft / 4735 m)

Breakfast in the camp.Climbing to Mingligh Sar (19,800 ft / 6,050 m). Day free for climbing Manglik Sar (6,050 m) or the people wh are not interest to the summit can make excursion trek to Shuwerth. Overnight in tent. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 10: Shimshal Pass (15,496 ft / 4735 m)

After breakfast free day in Shimshal Pass. (4735 m).Stroll arround flowery fields in the middle of yak and sheep herds, prominent two large lakes that lie on the cut-off point between South Asia and Central Asia to The Shimshal Pass (4735m) the most pleasant site (4700m). Overnight in tent. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 11: Shimshal Pass-Arbab Puerion (12,815 ft / 3,916 m)

Breakfast in the camp. Trek back to Arbab Puerion (5-6 hours). Overnight in tent. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 12: Arbab Puerion-Shimshal (9,425 ft / 2,880 m)

Breakfast in the camp. Trek back to Shimshal Valley (2,880 m). Over night stay in tent. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 13: Shimshal-Gulmit

Breakfast in the camp. Drive to Gulmit.We shall stay in Gulmit Village (summer capital of Hunza Valley) on return from Khunjrab. Khunjrab pass at 4,733 meters is the true border between Pakistan and China although the customs posts are at Sost and Tashkurgan. The Karakuram highway runs through the Khunjrab Pass, the highest border crossing with smooth road in the world to Tashkurgan China. Overnight at the hotel in Gulmit. (Breakfast only).

Day 14: Gulmit-Karimabad

After breakfast transfer to boat to cross Attabad Lake. Transfer to Karimabad by Willy Jeep. Visit Baltit Fort and bazaar to explore local area.Karimabad is the delightful old capital of the Hunza Kingdom. From Karimabad, with its souvenir shop, post office and tea shop, you can obtain a magnificent view of the valley laid out below you and of the peaks behind. Karimabad area is sprinkled with wild flowers and blossoming fruit orchards. We will spend half our day in this town enjoying the greenery and delighting in the sound of water falls. Arrive and transfer to the hotel in Karimabad.Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).

Day 15: Karimabad-Besham

Early in the morning proceed to visit Duiker Valley to witness the eye bird view of Hunza Valley with Sun Rise. Breakfast in Duiker. Then drive back to Karimabad. Continue drive to Besham via Karakuram Highway. Overnight in Besham. (Breakfast only).

Day 16: Besham-Islamabad

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive to Islamabad en-route visiting Taxila. Continue drive to Islamabad, Arrive and transfer to the hotel in Rawalpindi/Islamabad. (Breakfast only).

Day 17: Islamabad

Transfer to Benazir International airport Islamabad for your home bound flight. (Breakfast only).
